Vintage Nantucket Basket Tray
Nantucket Baskets are a type of basket originating, in the 19th century on Nantucket Island lightships. These baskets are all made from rattan and wood, have an odd number of staves, a solid wooden base, a nailed and lashed rim, a rattan weaver, and are woven over a mould.
This beautiful, large tray is a true collector’s item. At 37" long and 25" wide, it was appraised at close to $900 retail. All proceeds of items in our ReStore support Habitat for Humanity’s efforts at providing perpetually affordable housing on Martha’s Vineyard.
